Team Supra Rider Jamie McCauley Lands Whirlydick

Supra Boats @Supra_Boats team rider Jamie McCauley has been killing it on the water lately.  No surprise to us now that he's spending his days behind the Supra SE550. Those that follow this stuff know that there has literally only been a handful of riders that have successfully landed this trick behind a boat. He joins fellow Supra teammate Cory Teunissen as one of the very few to land the elusive Whirlydick. When asked what it took to learn, Jamie tells us he took a few attempts at the trick over the summer, but then decided to get serious the last couple of days intent on landing it.  His practice came with a few epic falls, but in the end success came behind the SE.

WW: Howabout a little introduction?
JM: Hi, my name is Jamie McCauley. I'm 16 years old. I'm from Lake Villa, Illinois. I've been wakeboarding for eight years now, but it was more of an every other weekend thing until about three years ago. I started taking it seriously and that's the year when I landed my first invert, a tantrum. This year I rode on the Jr. Pro Tour. I'm honored to be riding alongside these great riders.

WW: Do you remember the first day you stood on a wakeboard?
JM: Yeah, I remember it pretty clearly actually. I remember I saw one of my dad’s friends doing it behind their boat and I told him that I wanted to try it. The next day we went to a pro shop and picked up a wakeboard and I actually got up first try. That's all I remember from it.

Team Supra Boats Welcomes Determined Rider Jamie McCauley

15-year-old wakeboarder, Jamie McCauley joins Supra Boats @Supra_Boats Junior Factory Team by packing the short time he has been riding with extreme focus and hard work.   

Supra Boats welcomes one of the newest, most determined young riders to the ranks of the Junior Factory Team. Jamie McCauley is now part of the Supra Family and not because he has been riding forever. Even though he is 15, Jamie has only been riding seriously for the last two years. Judging by his trick list and tournament finishes, this young man has made the absolute most out of his relatively recent decision to pursue wakeboarding professionally. The sheer determination it takes to get to this level in such a short time, is not possessed by most adults, let alone a teenager.  This kind of focus producing these kinds of results did not go unnoticed by Supra Boats.   The luxury performance wake boat manufacturer also took into account the support Jamie credits for his fast-paced rise through the wakeboarding competitions.
