2009 WWA Wakeboard World Championships Date & Location Announced Today!

For the first time since 2004, the top pro and amateur wake athletes on the planet will battle it out on the waters of Orlando, Fla., for world titles, as the ROCKSTAR WWA Wakeboard World Championships, presented by Supra returns to the mecca of wakeboarding on Aug. 27-30, 2009.

This four-day-long event is hosted by the World Wakeboard Association (WWA)and features riders from around the globe vying for world titles in 20 divisions, separated by age and skill level.

Since 2004, the WWA Worlds have been held in Australia, Texas, Nevada and most recently in Oklahoma.

Last year, the 2008 Worlds featured 16 divisions, with 13 titles going to the United States and one title each going to Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom.

The 2009 Rockstar WWA Wakeboard World Championships, presented by Supra is a four-day-long carnival of water-sports action. But not all of the action takes place on the water. On land, fans will experience tons of great music and food, athlete autograph signings, chances to win free giveaways, and shopping at the most cutting-edge stores offering water-sports equipment, including boats, wakeboards, wakeskates, sunglasses and the latest in wakeboarding and surfing fashions.
