Team Supra Boats Welcomes Determined Rider Jamie McCauley

15-year-old wakeboarder, Jamie McCauley joins Supra Boats @Supra_Boats Junior Factory Team by packing the short time he has been riding with extreme focus and hard work.

Supra Boats welcomes one of the newest, most determined young riders to the ranks of the Junior Factory Team. Jamie McCauley is now part of the Supra Family and not because he has been riding forever. Even though he is 15, Jamie has only been riding seriously for the last two years. Judging by his trick list and tournament finishes, this young man has made the absolute most out of his relatively recent decision to pursue wakeboarding professionally. The sheer determination it takes to get to this level in such a short time, is not possessed by most adults, let alone a teenager.  This kind of focus producing these kinds of results did not go unnoticed by Supra Boats.   The luxury performance wake boat manufacturer also took into account the support Jamie credits for his fast-paced rise through the wakeboarding competitions. Thanking his family, his local Supra dealer, The Boat House Chicago, as well as his coaches and all of his sponsors Jamie is as humble as he is determined to succeed. Welcome to the team Jamie!

Jamie was born to Tom and Laurie McCauley in March of 1997 in Lake Villa, IL.  He started riding occasionally at the age of 8, but did not begin to dedicate serious time to wakeboarding until 2010 when he turned 13. Jamie trains in Florida with Cobe and Tarah Mikacich and locally with a group of great people, including his riding partner Nick Cankar. Spending most of his time behind his 2012 Supra Launch 22V Worlds Edition, purchased from one of the Midwest’s most accomplished customer-serving dealerships, The Boat House Chicago. Jamie typically takes his Supra to Lower Fox River, Petite Lake or Gages Lake where he rides a Liquid Force Harley Grind board with Harley Boots.

Jamie has gone from landing his first invert (Tantrum) ever, in June of 2010 to Mobes, 720s, and Mobe 5s including his new favorite trick the Whirly 5. This fast-paced progression is stunning and not just visible during practice behind his Supra. Jamie is tearing up regional and national tournaments with amazing finishes. His string of big finishes started in 2011 with a USA Wakeboard Boys National Champion title. He added a Rockstar Energy WWA Wakeboard World Championship finals qualification to his bio in 2012 and along the way added four Outlaw wins in regional contests culminating in the overall Outlaw Championship title at the 2012 Fort Fremont Marine Hyperlite Series.

“Jamie seemed to come out of nowhere and do amazing,” answered Rick Tinker, President of Supra Boats, when asked about his newest Junior Team member.  “I still can barely believe he has only been riding for 2 years. It’s pretty awesome to see what real determination can do in the hands of a hard working young person. We couldn’t be happier to have Jamie on the team!”

When we asked Jamie what happened to get him so focused on wakeboarding he told us, “In Fall of 2010 we went to the USA Wakeboard National Championships. I remember clearly going there, watching these amazing riders and thinking to myself, ‘I think I can do that’. That was it. We came home, brought our Supra to the house so I could ride more often, and I started riding all I could.“  Jamie continued, “I have my sights set high for 2013 with a move to the Jr. Pro division. I know it will be a lot of hard work, but I'm definitely up to the challenge!”

Jamie credits his past and future success as much to his family, friends, coaches and sponsors as he does to his own ability. To learn more about Jamie McCauley and the entire Supra Boats Junior Factory Pro Team stay tuned to Supra Boats on Facebook, Twitter, Blogger and Instagram (@Supra_Boats).
